Advice - Backslidden

I am engaged to be married to a usually wonderful guy. We are both back-slidden and don't go to church. Both of us were raised in church and know the power of God. Recently, I have been having doubts about getting married. I see traits in him that I do not like, and am not sure if I can live with them. I have placed a few "fleeces" out before God, and he has given me answers. My boyfriend says that because I am back-slidden God did not hear my prayers and therefore, it must just be coincidence.

Even when we're not right with God, His Holy Spirit still convicts us at times. If we are truly saved, then His hand is on us; and He will graciously send us warnings of danger ahead. It sounds as if this is the case now. If I were you, I would heed these warnings in your heart; or you may be very sorry you didn't later! And if this young man looks like trouble to you, you would be wise to break off with him.
Right now the best thing for you to do is to get back to the Lord! When we're walking close to Him, His Spirit guides us step by step and helps us to avoid pitfalls. So please log on to this website and do what it says:Spirit Filled Life

I'm praying for you. Please feel free to write again. I care! In Christ's love, Dr. Muriel
