One Link in a Chain

"For you must teach others those things you and may others have heard me speak about. Teach trustworthy men (people), who will, in turn, pass them on to others." 2 Timothy 2:2

One of my neighbours invited me to her craft sale. I decided to go so that I could meet more of my neighbours and I am very glad I went. At the sale I met up with Janet, who used to live in the neighbourhood. She had been the first women on the block to join a Bible study I taught years before.

As we were leaving the craft sale, she thanked me for discipling her when she was a new mom. We chatted about some of our former neighbours and I asked her about a woman named Carol who had come to an evangelistic coffee in my home. She had not prayed to receive Christ that day. Janet told me that she had done follow-up with Carol and Carol did ask Jesus into her life several months later.

I was so encouraged to hear this, not only because once again I heard that God is faithful to meet our every need, but also to hear about Carol. I discipled Janet and had an evangelistic coffee in my home. Carol heard the gospel at the coffee and had Janet to lead her to Christ and disciple her. God showed me that I was one link in the chain that helped Carol on her spiritual journey.

Has God used you as a link in a chain of someone's spiritual journey? Have you thanked him for using you?

Father, help us to be obedient to you when you prompt us to pray, to witness and to encourage, because all of these things are one link in a chain of events that brings others closer to your love.
