Healed Heart
by NinaI am a healer.
At the age of fifty-five, I have spent most of my life as a doctor caring for sick children in kindergartens in Volgograd, Russia. This part of my life is clear and easy to understand. For many years, however, one piece of the puzzle of life was missing. Without it, my picture was incomplete.
I struggled with many of the trials that women face. Following my divorce, I raised my son alone. As he became an adult, he fell into an addiction to alcohol. My mother's heart suffered for my son and I did not know what to do to help him, or to help myself.
I had always believed in God. I learned about Him from my grandmother. Throughout my schooling under the Communist government, I was taught that God did not exist, but I continued to believe. I kept a quiet faith though I had never gone to church or seen a Bible.
One night, a Christian program was broadcast on television in Volgograd. It spoke of the God I had always believed in and I wanted to know more. I called the television station for more information and soon I was invited to an Open House.
At this gathering, I received a Bible. When I read the words, I knew that I had found the missing piece to my puzzle. Now I knew that God was not only real, but that He wanted to have a relationship with me. The picture of my life could be complete.
I became God's child by asking Him into my life. I prayed something like this:
Lord Jesus, I want to know you personally. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life to you and ask you to come in as my Saviour and Lord. Take control of my life. Thank you for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Make me the kind of woman you want me to be.
With that assurance, I began to experience God's peace and strength in my life to cope with the difficulties I was going through. I found that God could give me the power to love my son and wisdom to know what to do.
What about you? Are you struggling to find the missing pieces of the puzzle? Do you struggle with difficult situations on your own? It doesn't have to be that way.
Does this prayer express the desire of your heart? You can pray it right now, and Jesus Christ will come into your life, just as He promised.
If you invited Christ into your life, thank God often that He is in your life, that He will never leave you and that you have eternal life. As you learn more about your relationship with God, and how much He loves you, you'll experience life to the fullest.
