Join the World’s Largest Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt
Often the true meaning of Easter is hidden behind bunnies and candy treats. So in an effort to see one million children experience the true meaning of Easter, FamilyLife, a division of Campus Crusade for Christ, is promoting the second annual World’s Largest Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt, on Saturday March 26, 2005. On this day people all across the nation will host egg hunts in their backyards, churches, and parks. The event is simple, and the message of Resurrection Eggs® even simpler.
Resurrection Eggs provide a creative, entertaining way to share the story of Easter as each egg contains objects representing various aspects of the Resurrection story. An accompanying booklet explains the various symbols inside each egg. The objects, including a silver coin representing the 30 pieces of silver and the linen in which Christ’s body was wrapped, allow children to engage in the story through sight and touch. The anticipation culminates as they discover the final egg is an illustration of Christ’s tomb—completely empty!
FamilyLife wants to bring their constituents a fun and simple way to explain the significance of Easter. Hosts are encouraged to register their events through www.familylife.com, where they can download free hosting guides, invitations, and coloring sheets for the party. Hunt hosts can also get these items by visiting The Family Christian store which is the Hunt Headquarters for 2005, a local Christian bookstore, or Wal-Mart. The guide, called the Eggstra Easy Egg Hunt Hosting Handbook, outlines a clear plan and includes many helpful, mom-approved tips for the novice party-planner.
